What Are IR Locators?
An IR locator is an RF Code hardware device that emits a Infrared Encoded id. This ID can then be received by an RF Code Asset Tag that has an IR sensor. The tag will then broadcast the IR code it receives as part of its normal beacon. CenterScape will then interpret the code and if a IR Rule is setup for that code, will update the Detected Location of the asset associated with the tag.
A750 Room Locator

The A750 Room Locator is designed to provide IR broadcasting at the room level. While RF beacons can penetrate walls IR cannot. This allows a more precise location for assets to be located at, rather than simply which reader receives an RF beacon at the strongest intensity.
A740 Rack Locator

The A740 Rack Locator is designed to provide IR broadcasting at the rack level. The IR signal is designed to be local to the rack with the front sides of the cabinet blocking the Infrared light from the next cabinet for front mounted assets and rack sides and rear doors blocking light for deploying IR strips in the rear of the cabinet.
